Creation Care
We consider ourselves so blessed that GCC is located in one of the more beautiful natural parts of the world. We also recognize that Scripture points to our mandate to care for God's Creation.
We do this for the following reasons
God created and blessed all nature (Genesis 1)
God calls his Creation "very good" (Genesis 1:10,18,21,25,31)
All of God's Creation are instruments of worship to him (e.g. Psalm 148)
God speaks to us through his Creation (e.g. Psalm 19:1-4)
God reveals general revelation about himself through nature, which can lead people to salvation (Romans 1:20)
God brings comfort to us through his Creation (e.g. Psalm 23:2-3; Jonah 4:6)
God instructs us to take care of his Creation (e.g. Genesis 2:15; Exodus 20:9-10; Leviticus 25:4; Proverbs 12:10)
We believe that polluting or destroying God's Creation is the opposite of God's command to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31)
As part of our care for God's Creation, GCC engages in the following activities on occasion.
Roadside cleanup on the roads around our church
Enjoying nature hikes together
